Interstate 10 from Suwannee County line to U.S. 441
Project Description
Interstate 10 from the Suwannee County line to U.S. 441 (9.5 miles) is scheduled for resurfacing in 2011 at an estimated $22 million.
For added safety, drainage structures will be extended further away from the edge of the travel lanes and the pavement slope will be adjusted in some areas to improve vehicle traction. Exit numbers will also be painted along the shoulder of the road and signs will be improved for better communication with motorists.
Motorist aid call boxes will also be repaired if needed and updated to current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.
On all Interstate 10 projects between Jacksonville and Interstate 75, including this one, guardrail upgrades have been made or are planned so both east- and westbound lanes can be used for westbound traffic during coastal evacuations.
